Xiaomi, the manufacturer known for its smartphones, has also been producing its first electric vehicle, the SU7, since the beginning of 2024. The company’s target for 2024 was 100,000 units of the electric sedan. According to Lei Jun, founder, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi, this target will now be reached in November, two months before the actual target date. From 2025, production is to be expanded to 300,000 units and also enable the manufacture of further models. Last week, a Xiaomi subsidiary acquired a plot of land adjacent to the current factory in Beijing to expand capacity.
