Duxion Motors is testing its patented eJet motor for electric aviation at low and high speeds. The eJet motor utilises permanent magnet technology and a new hybrid cooling system to achieve a better power-to-weight ratio for the electrification of jet aircraft. The integrated ducted fan system supplements the liquid cooling system with active convection cooling to increase power density.
The new technology of the jet engine
Previous systems suffered from strong vibrations, which led to frequent maintenance. With the eJet motor, this is prevented by integrating the fan blades into the motor. This eliminates the need to drive the fan blades, which increases drive efficiency and overall efficiency. Increase the overall efficiency. The technical challenges of this solution lie in the centrifugal forces acting on the fan blades at higher motor speeds.
