ABB announced the launch of a new package consisting of an the AMXE250 motor and an HES580 inverter specifically designed for electric buses. This is the first 3-level inverter for electric buses, which according to ABB offers higher energy efficiency and performance.
Benefits of the new technology
ABB claims a 75% reduction in motor harmonic losses compared to conventional 2-level inverters, minimising heat dissipation and maximising energy savings. According to the manufacturer, the inverter has a longer service life and is more reliable.
